Youssouf Fofana transfer rumour: Besiktas monitor AC Milan midfielder

French midfielder Youssouf Fofana is being linked with a move from AC Milan to Besiktas, with the Turkish club considering a deal for the 27-year-old.

Fofana remains under contract with the Serie A club until 30 June 2028, but the rumour places him on Besiktas’ radar as the Turkish side assess midfield options. His current market value is listed at €23m.

The midfielder has not featured for AC Milan in the opening two possible Serie A matches of the 2026-27 season, recording no appearances or minutes. That early lack of involvement comes after he joined Milan from Monaco on 17 August 2024 in a transfer reported at €26m.

Fofana won the Italian Super Cup with Milan during the 2024-25 season, one of the club’s trophies since his arrival. Before moving to Italy, he spent four seasons with Monaco after beginning his senior career at Strasbourg.

Born in Paris, Fofana has represented France and was part of the side that finished runners-up at the 2022 World Cup. He can also claim Malian nationality.

The possible move would take Fofana from Serie A to the Turkish Super Lig, although there has been no confirmation that an agreement has been reached. For now, he remains an AC Milan player with two years left on his contract.
