Youssef Laghzal: Moroccan goalkeeper leaves Ittihad Tanger to become free agent

Moroccan goalkeeper Youssef Laghzal has left Botola Pro side Ittihad Tanger and is now a free agent after his contract with the club came to an end.

The 25-year-old, born in Fes, departs the Tanger outfit ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, bringing his one-season stay at the club to a close. Laghzal, who is listed with a market value of €50,000, is now available to join a new team without a transfer fee.

Laghzal joined Ittihad Tanger in August 2023 on a free transfer from Union Touarga. His move at the time marked a step up after a spell in Rabat, where he had first established himself in the Moroccan game.

Before that, the goalkeeper spent time between Union Touarga and Wydad Fes during the 2021-22 season. He initially left Union Touarga on loan to Wydad Fes in January 2022 before returning to Touarga at the end of that campaign. His senior pathway had begun with a free transfer from AM Football to Union Touarga in November 2020.

Primarily operating as a traditional goalkeeper, Laghzal has built his career entirely within Moroccan football so far, moving through clubs that compete in the country’s professional structure. His latest departure gives him the opportunity to assess options for the next stage of his career both domestically and potentially abroad.

Laghzal’s exit from Ittihad Tanger is registered as a move to free-agent status, leaving him unattached going into the new season.
