Yan Diomande prioritizes World Cup over PSG, Liverpool links

Ivory Coast head coach Emerse Fae says Yan Diomande is completely focused on the ongoing World Cup campaign despite strong transfer links to PSG and Liverpool.

The RB Leipzig wonderkid impressed in Ivory Coast’s opening match, catching eyes with his dribbling as the West Africans beat Ecuador 1-0.

“When we were in France, during the preparation, journalists told me he was about to sign with PSG,” Faé began, addressing the intense media rumours.

“Here, they tell me he’s about to sign with Liverpool! I don’t know, but for now, he will focus on the World Cup,” Faé stated. “And then afterwards, he can think about the rest of his career,” the manager added, hoping to block out unnecessary external transfer distractions.

“Yan what can I say? I can’t put it into words,” Faé continued, proudly praising the teenager’s work ethic and strong natural team spirit.

“He’s very talented, but beyond the talent, he’s very young and he’ll improve. It’s easy to work with someone like Yan,” the head coach concluded. With his electrifying displays at the World Cup, Diomande has emerged as one of Africa’s most exciting young defenders on Europe’s radar.
