Wydad Casablanca has held a crisis meeting with head coach Rulani Mokwena over a poor run of results.
The South African gaffer has come under massive pressure due to the poor performance of the side.
After 24 matches played in the ongoing Moroccan topflight, Wydad sit 3rd on the league log with 42 points, 17 points adrift of the top spot.
Wydad drew 2-2 with Fath on Sunday evening, which led to the hirachy of the club to call for a crisis meeting.
“The club’s management is not happy with the recent results in the league and held a meeting with the coach, during which several issues were discussed, including poor results, declining performance and the instability of the lineup in matches,” a source told Kooora.
“The club president confirmed in his meeting with Mokwena that he received unconditional support that his predecessors at Wydad did not. The team also signed 29 players for him in the summer and winter transfer window, and the goal was to finish second in the CAF Champions League.
“Mokwena was warned of his dissatisfaction with the actions he took towards the club’s fans during the match against Fath due to their protest against his performance. He has no right to get involved in these details and will continue his duties until the end of the season with the same stated objectives.”
Wydad will hope to return to winning ways when they travel to play Ittihad Tanger at the Stade du village sportif de Tanger.
