Wycombe Wanderers snap up English-Kenyan forward Silko Thomas after Leicester exit
Wycombe Wanderers have completed the signing of former Leicester City forward Silko Thomas as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The Chairboys confirmed the arrival of the 22-year-old attacker for an undisclosed fee, with Thomas joining Adams Park after becoming a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Leicester City this summer.
Thomas leaves the Foxes after a season in which he featured 17 times across all competitions, despite Leicester’s difficult campaign that ended with relegation to League One.
The forward was also sent on loan to Wigan Athletic during the 2024/25 season, gaining valuable experience in English football before securing his next move with Wycombe.
Fifth summer addition
Thomas becomes Wycombe’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window as manager Matt Bloomfield continues to reshape his squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The forward joins a growing list of new arrivals at Adams Park, following the captures of Cauley Woodrow, Steve Cook, Conor Hazard and Matt Macey.
His versatility in the attacking third is expected to provide another option for Wycombe as they look to build a competitive squad for the season ahead.
Having progressed through Leicester’s academy system, Thomas made his senior breakthrough with the Foxes and was part of the squad during their return to the Championship before last season’s relegation setback.
The move to Wycombe offers the young attacker an opportunity for more regular involvement as he looks to continue his development and establish himself at senior level.
With the Chairboys already active in the transfer market, Thomas’ arrival signals the club’s ambition to add both experience and attacking depth ahead of their next challenge.
