Women’s Under-20 World Cup: South Korea hold half-time lead against Portugal

South Korea lead Portugal 1-0 at half-time in their Women’s Under-20 World Cup match after a lively and controlled opening 45 minutes.

The decisive moment came in the 25th minute, when Ryu Seung-woo finished from an excellent pass by Kang to break the deadlock.

The goal rewarded South Korea’s strong start and gave the Taeguk Warriors a deserved advantage. They combined discipline with efficiency during the first half, making it difficult for Portugal to impose themselves on the game.

Portugal were caught out by the pace and quality of South Korea’s move for the opener. Kang’s pass created the opportunity, and Ryu Seung-woo made no mistake in beating the Portuguese goalkeeper to put her side in front.
