Al Ahly striker Wessam Abu Ali will be sidelined for up to two weeks due to an injury sustained while on international duty with the Palestinian national team. The 24-year-old forward had been called up for the World Cup qualifiers but was forced to miss Palestine’s match against South Korea after suffering the injury in their clash against Oman.
Abu Ali, who joined Al Ahly for €2 million during the winter transfer window of 2024, played just one of the two matches in the recent international break.
Following the injury, the club swiftly brought the player back to Egypt for further evaluation.
Radiological tests have confirmed the extent of the injury, and the striker is expected to be out of action for a period of 10 days to two weeks.
To ensure a speedy recovery, Al Ahly has implemented a specialized rehabilitation and treatment program for Abu Ali.
The talented forward, who previously played for Aalborg in Denmark, has been a key player for Al Ahly since his arrival.
In just eight appearances this season, he has already contributed five goals and one assist, quickly establishing himself as a pivotal figure in Marcel Koller’s squad.
His absence comes at a critical time for the Red Devils, who have several important fixtures ahead.
The club will be eager to see Abu Ali return to full fitness as soon as possible, given his significant impact on their attacking options.
Al Ahly and their fans will be hoping for a swift recovery for the prolific striker, who has already shown great promise in the Egyptian Premier League.
