Warren Bondo set to leave AC Milan after being frozen out

Warren Bondo is closer than ever to leaving AC Milan after being excluded from the first-team squad for several weeks.

The 23-year-old Franco-Congolese midfielder spent last season on loan at Cremonese but has been unable to secure a regular place in the Milan squad. Attempts by the club to transfer him this summer, or to terminate his contract – which runs until June 2029 – have not resulted in an agreement with the player.

As a result, Bondo will return to training with the first team this week, according to journalist Matteo Moretto. The former Monza player’s reintroduction is required by the contractual and regulatory terms governing his situation.

However, it does not signal a change in AC Milan’s plans. Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim does not intend to use Bondo during the remainder of the season, and the club’s position remains unchanged despite his return to first-team training.

AC Milan’s directors are still looking to part company with the midfielder during the next transfer window and are actively seeking a new destination for the Evry-born player.

AC Milan will soon face RB Salzburg in their second match of the Europa League.
