Valenciennes Set to Face Toulouse Without Key Players
As the final matchday of Ligue 1 approaches, Valenciennes will face Toulouse with several key players missing, following their relegation to the lower division.
Striker Majeed Waris, who has been a standout performer for the club this season, will not feature in the match. He has been granted permission to return to Ghana for personal reasons ahead of the Black Stars’ preparations for the World Cup. “Preparations for the World Cup begin on Monday, and he has therefore been released from his obligations with VAFC,” the club stated.
Additionally, captain Eloge Enza-Yamissi will be absent due to professional commitments, as he is representing the Central African Republic in the first leg of the 2015 African Cup of Nations preliminary round this weekend.
There is also uncertainty surrounding Carl Medjani’s availability. The Algerian defender has been struggling with a hamstring injury and was only able to train partially on Wednesday. Valenciennes head coach Ariel Jacobs commented, “He only trained partially today. He has a hamstring problem.”
With these absences, Valenciennes will need to adjust their lineup as they play their final match of the season against Toulouse, looking to finish on a strong note despite their relegation.
