Wadi Degla, led by South African coach Shilene Boois, and their counterpart, Toot Ankh Amoun under the guidance of Ahmed Ramadan, have completed their preparations for the Egyptian Women’s Football Cup final, scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, at 4:30 PM at the Air Defense Stadium.
Under the mentorship of their African coach, Wadi Degla is keen to secure the Cup title to compensate for losing the Egyptian League title to their traditional rivals, Toot Ankh Amoun, aiming to secure their eighth title in history.
Meanwhile, Toot Ankh Amoun, led by veteran coach Ahmed Ramadan, is hopeful to clinch the current edition of the Egyptian Cup, aiming to secure their second consecutive title and their second in history.
The current edition of the Egyptian Women’s Football Cup witnessed a significant decline in participation from clubs across all divisions.
Out of 50 clubs, only six decided to participate, with 44 teams opting out due to financial constraints, as the Egyptian Football Association requires a participation fee of 10,000 Egyptian pounds, in addition to the clubs having to provide illuminated stadiums for night matches.
The six clubs participating in the current edition of the Egyptian Cup are Wadi Degla, Toot Ankh Amoun, Pyramids FC, ZED FC, Al-Amiriyah Sporting Club, and El Maadi Yacht.
Notable clubs refusing to participate in the tournament include Future FC, Aviation Club, National Bank, Arab Contractors, Smouha SC, Alexandria Sporting Club, and Al-Masry Club.
