Brazilian forward with Cameroonian roots, Vinicius Jr is hoping that Neymar will be called up to the national team for the March international break.
Neymar currently plays for boyhood club Santos, where he has already established himself as the main man.
He scored against Bragantino last Sunday, leading the team to a 2-0 win at the end of the contest.
For Vinicius Jr, Neymar is the idol for Brazilian players in the current generation. He is excited the former Barcelona forward is back in Brazil playing for Santos and hopes to see him in the national team.
“The expectation is great because he is the idol of our generation. We are very happy that he returned to Santos. That he has returned to score and that he is happy, which is always the most important thing,” Vinicius said to TNT Brasil.
With Brazil fifth in their World Cup qualifying group, the team will need good results in the upcoming games against Colombia on March 20 and Argentina five days later
“It could be two wonderful games because it is against Colombia and Argentina,” said Vinicius.
