Africa’s representatives for the 2026 FIFA World Cup are intensifying preparations, scheduling a wave of international friendlies across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America ahead of the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

A record nine African teams have already clinched direct qualification, signalling the continent’s strengthened presence on football’s biggest stage.

Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, Ghana, and Cape Verde all topped their respective qualifying groups.

DR Congo, meanwhile, is still in the running for a potential tenth spot through the intercontinental play-offs.
