Veszprem thrash Burgan to complete perfect group-stage record before Barcelona final

Veszprem maintained their winning run at the Handball Club World Cup in Egypt with a 44-19 victory over Kuwait’s Burgan.

The match was played at the indoor arena in the New Administrative Capital, where the Hungarian side secured their third win in as many group-stage games.

Veszprem had already beaten Al Ahly and German club Fuchse Berlin before completing their sequence of victories against Burgan.

They will now face Spanish side Barcelona in the Handball Club World Cup final.

Veszprem’s squad includes four Egyptian internationals: Ali Zein, Yahia El-Deraa, Ahmed Adel “Dola” and Ahmed Hesham “Dodo”.
