Karim Benzema is set to undergo crucial medical evaluations to determine his participation in two important fixtures for Al-Hilal.

The field tests, scheduled for Tuesday, will decide whether the French star can feature against Al-Kholoud in the 29th round of the Saudi Roshan League at the Kingdom Arena.

According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh, Benzema’s chances of playing in the upcoming AFC Champions League round of 16 match against Al-Sadd next Monday are high. However, his inclusion against Al-Kholoud will be determined during today’s training session.

Benzema had suffered a sudden toe injury before Al-Hilal’s last match against Al-Taawon, which ended in a 2-2 draw, forcing coach Simone Inzaghi to rely on young attackers Mohamed Kader Meiti and Marcos Leonardo.

On a positive note, Inzaghi welcomed the return of wingers Salem Al-Dawsari and Sultan Mandash to group training after recovering from knee and ankle injuries, respectively. Meanwhile, Simon Poiri continues his physical conditioning program ahead of a gradual return to ball training.

Coach Inzaghi is expected to provide a full update on the squad’s readiness, including Benzema’s status, during a press conference before the clash with Al-Kholoud.
