UEFA Champions League: Sabah Baku hold Borussia Dortmund to a draw at half-time

Sabah Baku have continued to frustrate Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, with the sides level at 1-1 at the interval after an intense first half.

Dortmund made the stronger start and took the lead in the 10th minute when S. Guirassy broke through the Sabah defence to give the visitors an early advantage.

The German side controlled more of the match, enjoying 56% possession compared with Sabah’s 44%. However, Dortmund were unable to turn their territorial dominance into a second goal and left the hosts within touching distance.

Sabah remained committed despite spending long periods without the ball. J. Mickels came close to levelling in the 30th minute, but the opportunity went unconverted.

The hosts eventually found their reward six minutes before half-time. Aden Mccar restored parity in the 39th minute after being set up by Tymoteusz P.

Dortmund’s early lead has therefore been cancelled out, leaving everything to play for after the break.
