The National Professional Football League (LNFP) has handed out a series of financial penalties and disciplinary measures to several Ligue 1 clubs following recent breaches of conduct.
US Ben Guerdane received the heaviest punishment, with the league imposing two matches to be played behind closed doors and a financial sanction of 10,000 Tunisian dinars.
The decision comes as part of the league’s efforts to clamp down on repeated incidents involving crowd disturbances and improper behaviour at stadiums.
Espérance de Tunis and AS Gabés were each fined 7,500 dinars.
While these clubs avoided immediate bans on spectator attendance, they were warned that future crowd trouble could result in matches being held without fans present.
This conditional sanction serves as a final warning to both clubs to improve crowd control and ensure safety standards are upheld in their home fixtures.
Elsewhere, Etoile Sportive du Sahel and Club Athlétique Bizertin were each fined 5,000 dinars.
Though the league did not specify the exact nature of the infractions in its official statement, these fines are typically linked to issues such as unsporting behaviour, use of pyrotechnics, or lack of security compliance during matches.
The LNFP’s latest disciplinary decisions reflect an increasingly firm stance on both security lapses and misconduct by clubs and their supporters.
As the domestic season progresses, the league continues to underline its zero-tolerance approach to any behaviour that threatens the safety, integrity, or image of Tunisian football.
These sanctions follow a pattern of recent disciplinary actions from the LNFP, which has been under pressure to address concerns over stadium safety and supporter conduct.
While financial penalties remain the most common form of punishment, the growing use of behind-closed-doors rulings signals a stronger deterrent against repeat offences.
With matches often drawing passionate and vocal crowds, clubs across Ligue 1 now face heightened scrutiny and will be expected to enforce tighter measures to avoid further disciplinary action.
The LNFP has yet to announce whether any additional investigations are ongoing, but today’s announcements serve as a reminder of the serious consequences of failing to comply with league regulations.
