Tunisian clubs await group stage opponents in CAF competitions

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to reveal the group stage opponents for two of Tunisia’s top football clubs, Espérance Sportive de Tunis and Club Sportif Sfaxien, as the draws for the Champions League and the Confederation Cup take place on Monday.

Espérance, Tunisia’s representative in the CAF Champions League, and Sfaxien, competing in the Confederation Cup, will soon discover their rivals as they prepare for the next phase of their respective continental campaigns.

The draws are scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM for the Confederation Cup, followed by the Champions League draw at 12:00 PM.

The stakes are high for both teams as they aim to secure favorable matchups that will aid their progress in Africa’s top club competitions.

For Espérance Sportive de Tunis, perennial participants and four-time winners of the Champions League, the tournament represents yet another opportunity to stake their claim as one of Africa’s elite football clubs.

Club Sportif Sfaxien, on the other hand, will feature in Pot 2 of the Confederation Cup draw, meaning they could face top-seeded teams such as USM Alger (Algeria), Zamalek (Egypt), RS Berkane (Morocco), or Simba SC (Tanzania).

Sfaxien’s Pot 2 placement, while favorable, still sets up the possibility of challenging encounters against seasoned clubs from across the continent.

The Confederation Cup draw also includes a mix of rising teams in African football, such as Enyimba (Nigeria), Stellenbosch FC (South Africa), and ASEC Mimosas (Ivory Coast), making the path to success for Sfaxien no easy task.
