Tunisia continue 2026 World Cup preparations with key trio joining squad
Tunisia national football team have continued preparations for the 2026 World Cup with the arrival of several key players at the squad’s training camp in Tabarka.
Coach Sabri Lamouchi is overseeing the camp as Tunisia build towards the tournament, with the squad gradually taking shape ahead of the upcoming international fixtures.
Although the group is not yet complete, the atmosphere within the camp is reported to be positive as the coaching staff focus on improving cohesion and tactical organisation.
Several locally based players were present from the opening days of the training camp, including Aymen Dahmen, Mouheb Chamekh, Sabri Ben Hassen, Mohamed Amine Ben Hmida and Firas Chaouat.
The squad also included foreign-based midfielder Ismaël Gharbi, who joined the preparations early as Tunisia intensified work ahead of the global tournament.
The camp received an additional boost on Friday when three more international players arrived to strengthen the group.
Rani Khedira, Montassar Talbi and Elias Achouri officially joined the training camp as Lamouchi continued assembling his preferred squad.
The Tunisian coaching staff are currently concentrating on achieving the right balance within the team while also refining tactical plans before the start of competitive action.
Building understanding between players is viewed as an important part of the preparations, particularly with several squad members arriving from different leagues and football environments.
Tunisia already know the scale of the challenge awaiting them at the World Cup after being placed in a difficult group alongside the Netherlands national football team, Japan national football team and the Sweden national football team.
With demanding fixtures on the horizon, Lamouchi and his staff are aiming to build a competitive and united squad capable of handling the high level of opposition expected during the tournament.
The ongoing training camp in Tabarka is therefore seen as a crucial stage in Tunisia’s preparation programme as more players continue to arrive and integrate into the national team setup.
