Ulrich Bapoh’s tenure at Alemannia Aachen appears to be nearing its end, with squad planner Erdal Celik confirming that the midfielder is no longer part of the club’s future plans.
“We have lost trust,” Celik stated to the Aachener Zeitung. “He got a lot of chances but didn’t take advantage of them.”
Signed in January 2023 after a six-month hiatus without a club, the 25-year-old Cameroonian midfielder featured in 36 matches for Aachen. However, his performances have waned significantly this season, with Bapoh clocking just 69 minutes across five games. His struggles were exemplified during the cup clash against TV Hopesthal, where he was substituted at halftime.
Muscular issues have further sidelined the player, keeping him out of the squad for Aachen’s recent match against Saarbrücken and ruling him out of their upcoming clash with SV Wehen Wiesbaden.
As the winter transfer window approaches, speculation grows over Bapoh’s next move. A contract termination, while costly, remains on the table if no suitors emerge. His departure would mark a stark conclusion to a chapter once filled with promise.
