Tottenham secure Tosin Adarabioyo signing as Chelsea defender moves for €8.15m

England and Nigeria centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo has joined Tottenham from Chelsea for €8.15m, completing a move to the Premier League club on 1 September 2026.

The 28-year-old defender leaves Chelsea after two seasons at Stamford Bridge, having joined the club from Fulham on a free transfer in July 2024. He arrives at Tottenham with a market value of €16m and adds domestic experience to the squad.

Adarabioyo played a part in Chelsea’s recent success, winning the Conference League during the 2024-25 season and the Fifa Club World Cup in 2025. He was also part of the Chelsea side that finished as FA Cup runners-up in 2025-26, with the defender credited with two goals in that campaign.

The London-born player began his senior career with Manchester City, progressing through the club’s youth system before moving into the under-23 side. He won the English League Cup with City in 2018 and later spent time on loan with West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn.

Adarabioyo joined Fulham in October 2020 for €1.65m and helped the club win the Championship and secure promotion to the Premier League during the 2021-22 season. His move to Chelsea followed two years later, with the defender making the switch without a transfer fee.

A right-footed centre-back standing 1.97m tall, Adarabioyo now continues his Premier League career with Tottenham after completing his transfer from Chelsea for €8.15m.
