Torino FC bring in Algeria international Rafik Belghali on conditional loan

Torino FC have officially completed the signing of Algeria right-back Rafik Belghali from Hellas Verona on a season-long loan that includes an obligation to buy if specified conditions are met.

The 24-year-old defender had attracted interest from several clubs before agreeing to remain in Serie A with the Turin side, as previously reported exclusively by Africafoot.

Belghali joined Hellas Verona in the summer of 2025 from KV Mechelen and quickly established himself in Italy’s top flight. His performances at club level also helped him secure an important role with the Algeria national team.

Torino FC are now hoping the right-back can strengthen their squad with his ability in the wide defensive area. The move gives Belghali another opportunity to continue his development while confirming his position as a player capable of competing at the highest level of Italian football.

Although he has moved to Torino FC, Belghali remains under contract with Hellas Verona until 30 June 2029. His current estimated market value is €12m.

The transfer structure means that Torino FC have taken the player initially on loan for one season, with the deal becoming permanent if the agreed conditions are fulfilled. The announcement represents the latest stage in Belghali’s rapid progress since arriving in Serie A.

His form for Hellas Verona had made him a target for a number of interested clubs, but Torino FC have won the race for his signature and kept the Algeria international in Italy’s top division.
