The relationship between the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) and the government has soured, particularly concerning the recruitment process for the new national team coach. The FTF alleges exclusion from this process, which began with the auditions of five preselected coaches this week.
The Ministry of Sports, on the other hand, suggests establishing a new committee for the administrative phase, leading to accusations of political interference by the FTF in the coach selection process.
This situation, criticized by Gabriel Ameyi, president of the FTF, risks causing delays in announcing the new coach for the Togolese national team, despite initial expectations of an announcement this week.
