Three Bundesliga clubs chase Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna
Three German Bundesliga clubs are battling for the services of Nigerian teenage sensation Zadok Yohanna ahead of the summer transfer window.
Yohanna only made his move to Swedish side AIK Fotboll in 2025, following his development at Nigerian academy side Ikon Allah Football Academy.
Despite being relatively new to European football, he has wasted little time in making an impression, quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting emerging talents in the league.
However, Bundesliga powerhouses, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Bayer 04 Leverkusen are all reportedly tracking 18-year-old winger.
The teenage sensation has rapidly become one of the most closely monitored young prospects in European scouting circles, with his explosive pace and direct attacking style drawing admiration from across the continent.
His rapid adaptation to senior football, combined with his ability to stretch defences and operate at high intensity, has put him firmly on the radar of Bundesliga scouts, who are known for targeting high-ceiling young players before they fully break out.
Dortmund, in particular, have built a reputation for developing elite attacking talent, while Leipzig and Leverkusen have consistently invested in young prospects as part of their long-term sporting models. The interest from all three clubs highlights just how highly Yohanna is rated internally across Germany.
Scouts are said to be particularly impressed by his acceleration over short distances, his confidence in one-on-one situations, and his willingness to take on defenders—traits that are often key indicators of Bundesliga suitability.
While no formal bids have been submitted at this stage, the growing attention suggests that Yohanna’s stay in Sweden could be short-lived if his development continues on its current trajectory. AIK, meanwhile, are aware that maintaining hold of such a talent may become increasingly difficult as Europe’s elite begin to intensify their pursuit.
For Yohanna, the situation represents both opportunity and pressure. In less than a year in European football, he has gone from academy football in Nigeria to the centre of a major transfer contest involving three of Germany’s biggest clubs.
As the scouting battle develops, one thing is already clear: Zadok Yohanna is no longer an unknown prospect—he is now one of the most closely watched teenagers in European football.
