The first football team of the Artillery Club secured a victory against Minya Sporting Club in a match held as part of the postponed fixtures of the eleventh week of the Second Division football league, Group One (2), in the Upper Egypt region.
With this win, the Artillery Club now holds 29 points, confirming their lead in the group and securing promotion to the Promotion League for professionals.
Meanwhile, Minya Club maintains the fourth position with 16 points.
The Artillery Club faced a challenging situation, playing with only nine players after the deliberate violent actions that led to the expulsion of two players in the 72nd minute of the second half.
Despite being a man down, they successfully maintained their lead. Minya Club, on the other hand, failed to equalize, even with nine minutes of added time.
The match was officiated by a refereeing team led by Captain Ahmed Gaber, assisted by Hossam Hassan, Mustafa Sayed, and fourth official Ahmed Gamal.
Salah Badr from the Competition Committee and Ashraf Abu El-Nour from the Referees’ Board were present to oversee the match.
The group is witnessing intense competition at the bottom, involving four teams: Al-Wasity, Shabab Maghagha, Telecom Bani Sweif, and Bani Mazar.
These teams are striving to avoid relegation to the Third Division and secure their place in the Second Division.
The thirteenth week’s matches are scheduled for Friday, February 9, featuring Al-Fayoum against the Artillery Club, Al-Wasity against Bani Mazar, Shabab Maghagha against Najm Masr, and Minya against Shabab Tamya.
Telecom Bani Sweif will have a mandatory break.
