South African defender Mosa Lebusa has extended his stay with giants Mamelodi Sundowns heading into the new campaign.
The 32-year-old, whose contract was due to expire on June 30, will now remain at Sundowns until 2026 after signing a new deal with the club.
The stalwart defender convinced Sundowns’ hierarchy of his worth, featuring in 30 matches last season and consistently stepping up in decisive showdowns.
However, the club exercised the option in his contract to keep the highly rated defender beyond 2025.
Notably, Lebusa is regarded as a true ‘Bafana Bastyle’ legend—since joining the team in 2018, he has made 197 appearances and claimed 11 trophies.
He is expected to play a vital role in the FIFA Club World Cup and the upcoming season at large, considering his wealth of experience.
