Sihle Nduli set for Orlando Pirates return after latest injury setback

Orlando Pirates midfielder Sihle Nduli says he expects to return to action soon after another injury disrupted his start to the season.

Nduli had spent an extended period on the sidelines last season before recovering and working his way back into contention for a regular midfield role.

However, his progress was halted again when he suffered a serious injury during a Betway Premiership match against AmaZulu earlier this season.

The player has praised Orlando Pirates’ medical department for helping him make a swift recovery and believes he is nearing a return.

“Firstly, I’ll thank the medical department for the work they have done so I could come back quickly. I can say that I’ll be back in action soon,” said Nduli.

Nduli acknowledged that dealing with another spell out injured had been challenging, but said the backing he received from his team-mates, supporters and others around the club helped him cope.

“Yeah, getting injured is part of our lives in football but I won’t lie it was difficult,” he added.

“But then with the teammates, supporters and everyone granted me the support I needed.

“They told me that these things happen and I would come back. Yes, it was hurting but with all the support structure, I go through it.”
