Senegal name 25-man squad for U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying camp

Senegal have begun preparations for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with 25 players called up for a training camp starting on Tuesday.

The Senegalese Football Federation confirmed the squad in a letter dated 14 September and sent to club presidents. The team will work under head coach Serigne Saliou Dia, with the camp focused on strengthening their tactical approach.

The selection includes several new faces, among them El Hadj Malick Gueye, Ousseynou Mandian and Mamadou Lamine Ba.

Senegal have been given a bye into the second qualifying round. They will face the winners of the two-legged tie between Djibouti and South Sudan.

The Lions of Teranga missed the previous two editions of the tournament and are aiming to return to the competition.
