The Professional Clubs Association has confirmed that Seifeddine Jaziri, the Tunisian forward for Zamalek SC, will be sidelined for the club’s upcoming Egyptian Premier League fixture against Petrojet due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
This match is scheduled for May 24 and is part of the league’s eighth round, which is the penultimate stage of the current season.
Jaziri received his third yellow card in Zamalek’s recent encounter with Pyramids FC, leading to a mandatory one-match suspension.
In addition to his suspension, the association imposed a fine of 5,000 Egyptian pounds on the player for his disciplinary record.
The disciplinary measures extend beyond Jaziri. Jaber Kamel of Farco FC will also miss one match after accumulating the requisite number of cautions.
Similarly, Mohamed Hashem from Al-Masry SC, Nigerian player Easy Emika, and Mahmoud Al-Zanfaly of Haras El Hodoud face suspensions under the same regulations for repeated infractions.
Furthermore, Mohamed Abdel Latif Grindo, representing Bank Al Ahly, is set to be absent in his team’s upcoming clash with Al Ahly SC.
He earned his suspension following a third yellow card received during the match against Farco FC.
Zamalek SC currently sits third in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 41 points, participating in the title race during the championship round of the season.
The team will have to navigate the remainder of their fixtures without Jaziri’s attacking presence, which may impact their push for the league title.
The Egyptian Premier League continues to enforce strict disciplinary standards to maintain fairness and competitive balance throughout the season.
The absence of key players like Jaziri will test squad depth as teams approach the critical final stages of the campaign.
