Sabri Zaidi makes free move from Al-Rayyan to JS Kairouan
Tunisia winger Sabri Zaidi has joined JS Kairouan from Al-Rayyan on a free transfer, completing a return to the club where he began his senior career.
The 30-year-old right winger completed the move on 31 August 2026 after spending the opening months of the year with Al-Rayyan. Zaidi joined the Saudi club from Al-Qalah in January, also on a free transfer, before moving back to Tunisia.
Zaidi came through the Kairouan Under-19 setup and first joined JS Kairouan’s senior side in July 2015. He remained with the club until September 2019, when he moved to Saudi Arabia to join Afif FC.
His career in Saudi football also included a spell with Al-Jandal, which he joined from Afif FC in October 2020. Zaidi later transferred to Al-Qalah in July 2024 and spent the 2025-26 campaign there before making another free move, this time to Al-Rayyan.
The left-footed attacker has played in both Tunisia’s Ligue 1 and the Saudi First Division League. He has made 52 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring four goals and providing two assists, while his record in the Saudi second tier stands at four goals and two assists from 28 appearances.
Zaidi has also featured in Tunisia’s Ligue I Pro Playout, the Tunisian Cup and the King’s Cup during his career. His return gives JS Kairouan an experienced wide player with previous football experience in both Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
At 1.74m, Zaidi’s preferred position is on the right side of attack, where his left foot allows him to operate from the flank. He previously reached a highest recorded market value of €250,000 during his career.
The move brings Zaidi back to the club that launched his senior career, following more than six years away and spells with Afif FC, Al-Jandal, Al-Qalah and Al-Rayyan.
Zaidi completed his free transfer to JS Kairouan on 31 August 2026.
