RSC Anderlecht target Ivorian winger Camara Pécho Ismaël in loan bid

RSC Anderlecht have expressed concrete interest in signing FK Haugesund’s Ivorian winger Camara Pécho Ismaël, with a proposal reportedly tabled for a loan move that includes an option to buy.

The 18-year-old has seen limited action in Norway’s top flight since joining Haugesund but has nonetheless made a strong enough impression in his brief appearances to catch the attention of the Belgian giants.

Despite featuring in only seven matches and accumulating just 223 minutes of playing time in the Eliteserien, his flashes of talent have made him a prospect worth pursuing.

Anderlecht’s interest has now developed into formal negotiations, with the club aiming to strike a deal that would bring the young right-sided attacker to Brussels on a temporary basis, while retaining the possibility of a permanent transfer.

Sources close to the situation confirm that talks are underway, though there remains some uncertainty regarding Haugesund’s willingness to part ways with the player at this stage of the season.

Haugesund currently sit at the bottom of the Norwegian first division and are facing a difficult battle to avoid relegation. With the club desperate to reverse its fortunes, management may be reluctant to sanction any departures, especially of a player considered to have untapped potential.

The coaching situation in Haugesund has also undergone a major shift in recent weeks. Finnish coach Toni Korkeakunnas has been brought in to replace Sancheev Manoharan, a change that could influence Camara’s role in the team moving forward.

With the new coach likely to reassess the squad, Camara may yet be given a more prominent role during the second half of the season.

Despite his current contract running until December 2028, Camara’s long-term future remains uncertain, particularly if Haugesund are unable to climb out of their current league position.

Anderlecht, on the other hand, are reportedly eager to act quickly, motivated in part by their potential participation in European competition next season — a factor they hope will persuade the young Ivorian to make the move.

The Belgian side sees Camara as a long-term investment, a dynamic wide player who could develop within their system while offering depth and attacking flair.

The club has built a reputation for nurturing young talent and believes the Ivorian could thrive in their more competitive environment.

While no agreement has been reached, discussions are said to be progressing, with both clubs evaluating their options ahead of the summer transfer window.

Haugesund are expected to make a decision based not only on financial terms but also on the player’s potential contribution in the battle for league survival.

For now, Camara Pécho Ismaël remains a player to watch — not just for his potential move to Belgium, but also for his evolving role in a Haugesund side desperately seeking inspiration as the season unfolds.
