Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, dazzling on the wing for Al-Ahli Jeddah, has etched his name alongside the elite company in the Saudi Professional League with another stellar season.
The 34-year-old playmaker hit a milestone in his team’s 2-2 draw against Al-Ittihad last Saturday during the 26th round of the Roshen League, delivering a pinpoint assist that underscored his flair.
According to football stats platform Sofascore, Mahrez now leads the league with 15 clear chances created this season, a feat that ties him with Al-Ittihad’s French star Moussa Diaby and Al-Shabab’s crafty midfielder Musab Al-Juwayr.
He explained that “the Algerian international is tied with the French Moussa Diaby, the star of Al-Ittihad Jeddah, and Musab Al-Juwayr, the Al-Shabab midfielder.”
Mahrez has been a cornerstone for the Royals racking up 13 goals and 14 assists across 36 matches in all competitions.
His wizardry on the ball has helped Al-Raqi secure fifth place in the Roshen League standings with 49 points, cementing his status as one of the competition’s brightest talents.
