Real Madrid keep close watch on Ajax midfielder Jorthy Mokio

Real Madrid are monitoring Ajax midfielder Jorthy Mokio ahead of next summer’s transfer window, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The 18-year-old defensive midfielder has attracted attention in Madrid with a series of consistent performances for the Dutch club. However, Real Madrid’s interest remains at the observation stage and no formal offer has been made to Mokio’s representatives.

Ajax are in a strong negotiating position because the player’s contract runs until June 2031. Real Madrid will therefore need to assess the overall cost of a potential deal, while also considering whether other clubs could enter the race for the midfielder.

Mokio, who was born in Ganda, has made 14 appearances for Ajax in all competitions since the start of the league campaign. He has scored one goal and provided two assists during that run.

His current estimated market value is €15m. The next step in the situation will depend on whether Real Madrid decide to turn their interest into a formal approach during the next summer transfer window.

Ajax are due to play their ninth league match of the season against FC Groningen.
