Besiktas revive interest in Sunderland winger Chemsdine Talbi ahead of winter window

Besiktas have renewed their interest in Sunderland winger Chemsdine Talbi as they look to strengthen their attack during the winter transfer window.

The Turkish club are seeking greater depth in wide areas, with Morocco international Talbi matching the profile identified by their recruitment team to add more attacking options.

According to Sporx, Besiktas are preparing to address several positions in the next transfer window. Alongside their search for wingers, the Black Eagles also intend to sign a defensive midfielder and a central midfielder.

Talbi, 21, has therefore been placed back on the club’s list of targets as Besiktas consider ways to improve their options on the flanks. The player had previously been identified as a possible addition, and the Turkish side have now reopened discussions around a potential move.

A permanent transfer is considered difficult because of Besiktas’s financial limitations. Talbi’s asking price is estimated at 20 million euros, a figure which has led the club to rule out an outright purchase for now.

Instead, Besiktas are expected to explore a loan agreement as they attempt to complete a deal for the Sunderland player. Such an arrangement would allow them to strengthen their squad without immediately meeting the full financial cost of a permanent transfer.

Talbi remains under contract with the Black Cats until June 2030. His annual salary is listed as 2,412,490 euros, equivalent to 1,568,118,500 FCFA.

Despite the reported 20 million-euro valuation attached to a possible transfer, Transfermarkt currently values the winger at 25 million euros. That assessment could further complicate negotiations should Sunderland be unwilling to consider a loan without favourable terms or a significant option to buy.

Besiktas’s plans for the winter window extend beyond the wide positions, with the club also assessing midfield reinforcements. The recruitment of both a defensive midfielder and another central midfielder is part of a broader effort to provide greater balance and depth across the squad.

Talbi’s immediate club, Sunderland, are due to face Bournemouth in their seventh match of the English league season.
