Real du Faso earned their first victory of the season by beating Salitas 3-1 in the opening match of the third round of the national championship on Friday evening.
The all-academy fixture was played at the USFA ground, where Real du Faso took the lead shortly before half-time. Idrissa Sore opened the scoring in the 43rd minute.
Cherif Guire extended Real du Faso’s advantage five minutes after the interval, making it 2-0 in the 50th minute.
Salitas, also known as the Colombes de Ouaga 2000, pulled a goal back through Noureddine Congo in the 80th minute and threatened to make the closing stages more competitive.
However, Lookman Achraf Tapsoba settled the match in Real du Faso’s favour by scoring in the third minute of added time, completing the 3-1 win at 90+3 minutes.
The result lifts Real du Faso to seven points in the table, while Salitas remain 14th with 1 point.
