PSG move closer to second major summer signing after Ferran Torres agreement

Paris Saint-Germain have reached a verbal agreement with Ajax to sign Mika Godts for €55m, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano reported the development on X, saying the French club had secured a verbal deal for the Ajax player after submitting a new formal offer.

“Breaking.. Paris Saint-Germain reach verbal agreement with Ajax to sign Mika Godts.. Here we go! Deal done!” Romano wrote.

He later added that the agreement had been reached for a fee of €55m following the submission of Paris Saint-Germain’s latest official proposal.

The proposed transfer has not yet reached the stage where the clubs have exchanged documents. However, Romano said there was a verbal understanding between Paris Saint-Germain and Ajax over the deal.

The agreement for Godts represents another significant move by Paris Saint-Germain during the current summer transfer window. It follows news that the club have also reached an agreement to sign Barcelona forward Ferran Torres.

That deal for the Spain international is understood to be worth close to €50m.

Paris Saint-Germain’s agreement with Ajax is therefore not yet complete in its formal administrative sense, despite Romano’s statement that the transfer has been settled verbally. The absence of exchanged documents means the clubs still have to complete that part of the process before the move can be officially finalised.

Romano’s report identifies the financial terms and the central points of the agreement: Paris Saint-Germain have offered €55m, Ajax have accepted the proposal in principle, and the two clubs have reached a verbal understanding for Godts’ transfer.

The news comes as Paris Saint-Germain continue their summer recruitment plans. Their agreement involving Torres had already indicated the club’s intention to strengthen its squad, while the proposed move for Godts would add another major deal to their current business.

For now, the transfer remains at the verbal-agreement stage. No documents have been exchanged between Paris Saint-Germain and Ajax, but the two clubs are understood to have settled the deal in principle.
