Kaizer Chiefs will look to preserve their unbeaten start to the Betway Premiership season when they visit Polokwane City on Saturday afternoon.
The match takes place on 12 September 2026 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, with both teams seeking an important result for different reasons.
Chiefs returned to winning ways in the league last weekend, edging Siwelele FC 3-2 at Dobsonville Stadium. The result kept them among the unbeaten teams in the competition, alongside Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
However, coach Fernando da Cruz made clear that his team must improve defensively after conceding twice against Siwelele FC.
Polokwane City have endured a more difficult run since their opening fixture. Their only league victory came in the first game of the campaign, when they defeated Richards Bay.
Rise and Shine have since recorded two defeats and draws, a sequence that has left them 11th in the standings.
Both managers have now confirmed their starting line-ups for the meeting in Polokwane.
Polokwane City field Masuluke in goal, with Manthosi, Modise, Nkaki and Ramaja in the defensive line. Kambala, Maphangule and Matube are selected in midfield, while Sebone, Dlamini and Molokwane make up the rest of the starting XI.
Polokwane City substitutes: Ngwenya, Mashele, Bathlabane, Mnguni, Mvundela, Philander, Mosotho, Mashinini and Malatsi.
Kaizer Chiefs start with Petersen as goalkeeper. Frosler, Cross, Miguel and Moloisane form the defence, while Maboe, Ndlovu and Mthethwa are named in midfield.
Mmodi, Vilakazi and Ighodaro complete the Chiefs line-up.
Kaizer Chiefs substitutes: Leaner, Solomons, Kwinika, Mako, Mtasingwa, Shabalala, Velebayi, Baartman and Abrahams.
