Paris Saint Germain manager Luis Enrique has hinted Morocco international Achraf Hakimi could be handed a different role at the club.
The enterprising right-back was in action when PSG played out a 1-1 draw against Nantes in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Hakimi gave his outfit the lead after just two minutes into the game before Matthis Abline level the score for the visitors as the game ended in a draw.
Speaking after the game, Enrique said, “Hakimi only plays as a right-back when Donnarumma has the ball, otherwise he plays as a striker and an attacking winger, and I cannot put him further forward, otherwise he will be next to the ultras in the stands.”
The Spanish trainer ring changes to the starting lineup that played against Bayer Munich in the Champions League in mid-week.
Explaining his decision, Enrique said, “I have no complaints about any player, but my message is that all the players must be prepared, and work hard in training and matches, and that the main player should think that he may lose his place if he does not perform well, and that the striker should seek to score more goals.
The 26-year-old Morocco defender has racked up two goals and provided four assists in 11 appearances in the French Ligue 1.
