Ousmane Dembele is locked in contract extension talks with Paris Saint-Germain but is insisting on a salary that reflects his new status as a Ballon d’Or winner.
Negotiations have been ongoing for months without a breakthrough, and for now both sides remain far apart.
Speaking on L’Équipe du Soir, journalist Loic Tanzi explained that there is still “no agreement” between Dembele and PSG, with the club’s early proposals described as too cautious. Dembele is not expected to accept what Tanzi called PSG’s “timid” first offers, as he believes his pay should match his current standing in the game.
The winger, who recently enjoyed one of the best years of his career, is using his Ballon d’Or triumph as a key reference point in the talks.
Tanzi even suggested it is uncertain whether the situation will be resolved, hinting that PSG may need to significantly improve their package if they want to secure Dembele’s long‑term future in Paris.
