Algerian football coach Noureddine Zekri has publicly apologized for his emotional behavior and comments that he says were misunderstood during his tenure in Saudi Arabia. Speaking after Al-Kholood’s 2-1 victory over Al-Akhdoud, Zekri addressed fans directly, stating, “I apologize to you all for my emotions in some matches and for my statements that were misunderstood and interpreted.”

Zekri, affectionately nicknamed “Zekriño, highlighted his long-standing connection to Saudi Arabia, saying, “I have lived in Saudi Arabia for more than 13 years.

He further expressed his affection for the country, adding, I love this country very much and am constantly present there, even if I am not coaching any team.

The coach’s remarks reflect his commitment to rebuilding relationships with Saudi football fans while emphasizing his deep appreciation for the region, where he has spent over a decade contributing to the sport.
