Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson is on the verge of sealing a loan move to Bayern Munich, with negotiations between the two clubs said to be in the final stages.

According to Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Bundesliga giants have shown serious intent by agreeing to take on the full salary of the Senegalese international during the loan period.

This signals Bayern’s confidence in Jackson’s potential and the role he could play in their attacking setup for the upcoming season.

Jackson joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023, arriving with high expectations following a standout spell in La Liga. However, despite flashes of promise in his first season at Stamford Bridge, he struggled to find consistency in front of goal and cement a permanent place in the starting eleven.

Now, with game time under increasing competition at Chelsea and the club looking to streamline its squad ahead of the new campaign, a temporary move to Germany appears imminent.

For Bayern, the opportunity to bring in a versatile and pacey forward aligns with their ongoing plans to refresh their attacking options, particularly as they look to compete on multiple fronts, including the Champions League.

The deal is being led by Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl, who is reportedly close to finalising the remaining contractual elements. Sources suggest a full agreement has already been reached with Jackson himself, indicating the transfer could be announced in the coming days.

For the 23-year-old striker, the proposed switch to the Bundesliga represents a fresh start and a chance to reassert his form on one of Europe’s biggest stages. Playing under a new tactical system and in a different environment could provide the platform he needs to regain confidence and further develop his game.

Jackson’s speed, off-the-ball movement, and ability to stretch defences have been recognised as strengths, and Bayern appear eager to harness those qualities within their squad.

His likely participation in the Champions League with the German club would also mark a key step forward in his career, offering him high-level European exposure that could be crucial in his long-term progression.

While no official statement has yet been released by either club, the finalisation of the loan is expected soon, barring any late setbacks. The move is seen as mutually beneficial: Bayern strengthen their attacking depth for the season ahead, while Chelsea open up space in their forward line and allow Jackson a valuable opportunity for regular first-team minutes.

Chelsea, under the guidance of new management, have been reshaping their roster with a clear emphasis on balance and squad optimisation. Jackson’s temporary departure would not necessarily end his time with the London side, but rather serve as a strategic step in his development, with both clubs keeping a close eye on his progress during his time in Munich.

If the deal is completed, Jackson will become one of the latest Premier League players to test themselves in the Bundesliga—joining a growing trend of young talents seeking game time and development opportunities in Germany’s top flight.
