Newly elected Raja Casablanca president Jawad Al-Zayat has outlined an ambitious vision to return the Moroccan giants to continental prominence.
Speaking to Kooora following his election, Al-Zayat expressed gratitude to supporters and pledged to deliver on his campaign promises, while also calling for continued backing.
“I thank everyone who supported and believed in our project. We won’t let them down,” he said. “But I must emphasize—we still need their support, now more than ever.”
Al-Zayat identified the immediate priority for his administration: implementing a football company structure to help stabilize and grow the club’s revenue base.
“The first task is to expedite the establishment of the football company system. It’s the only path toward securing the financial resources Raja needs,” he stated.
Highlighting the club’s stature and history, Al-Zayat stressed that Raja’s prolonged absence from the CAF Champions League was unacceptable.
“Raja is a major institution. Its absence from Africa’s elite competition has gone on too long,” he said. “Our goal isn’t just a domestic resurgence. We aim to consistently be among the top four and make deep runs in the Champions League.”
