Mustafa Shobeir signs with agency representing Ancelotti and Palmer

Mustafa Shobeir has signed with CAA Base, the agency representing Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti and Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Al Ahly goalkeeper remains under contract with the Egyptian club until the end of next season, but Romano says Shobeir could be a candidate to leave in the coming period amid interest from a number of clubs.

CAA Base also represents Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo, Tottenham forwards Richarlison and Pedro Porro, and a number of other prominent figures in football.

Shobeir’s decision to join the agency follows a series of impressive performances for Egypt at the World Cup. He helped the national side reach the last 16 before they were eliminated by Argentina in a 3-2 defeat.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper made a significant impact during the tournament, saving two penalties. One was taken by Iran forward Mehdi Taremi during the group stage, while the other came from Argentina captain and forward Lionel Messi in the last-16 match.

Romano reported that Shobeir had formally signed with CAA Base to manage his professional affairs. The agreement places him alongside a group of high-profile players and managers represented by the same agency, including Ancelotti, Palmer, Caicedo, Richarlison and Porro.

Although Shobeir’s current contract with Al Ahly runs through the end of next season, interest from other clubs could lead to discussions over his future. The report does not identify the clubs monitoring the goalkeeper, but links his potential availability to the level of his performances at the World Cup.

His displays for Egypt have increased attention around the goalkeeper after he played a central role in the team’s progress to the knockout stage. His penalty saves against Taremi and Messi were among the notable moments of his tournament, despite Egypt’s eventual defeat by Argentina.

Ancelotti, who is also represented by CAA Base, is the manager of the Brazil national team. The agency’s football portfolio includes players from Chelsea and Tottenham, as well as other names in the game.

For now, Shobeir remains an Al Ahly player, with his existing deal extending beyond the current campaign. However, his new representation and the reported interest from several clubs could make his future one to watch over the coming period.
