Moussa Diarra: Malian-American striker makes Borneo FC switch from Trofense

Malian-American centre-forward Moussa Diarra has joined Indonesia’s Borneo FC from Portuguese club Trofense, completing a move on 30 August 2026.

The 27-year-old forward arrives after starting the 2026-27 campaign with Trofense in Liga 3, where he made two appearances and played 127 minutes. Diarra did not score or provide an assist in those matches, and received one yellow card.

Diarra’s move takes him into Borneo FC’s Super League squad and represents the latest change in a career that has included clubs in France, Portugal and the Caribbean. He began his senior club career with Real, joining FC Martigues as a free agent in August 2019.

He spent the 2020-21 season with USR Sainte-Rose on loan from Martigues before returning to the French club at the end of that campaign. After leaving Martigues, Diarra joined Com. Industria in July 2022 and then moved through three Portuguese clubs.

The striker joined Sintrense in July 2023, switched to Vianense a year later and arrived at Trofense in July 2025. His move to Trofense was completed as a free transfer, before his latest change of club brought an end to his time there.

Diarra was born in New York City and holds Malian and United States nationality. Standing at 1.89m and preferring his right foot, he is listed as a centre-forward and gives Borneo FC an established attacking option for the new season.

Borneo FC have now completed Diarra’s transfer from Trofense, with the forward joining the club on 30 August 2026.
