Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou has expressed confidence in the Atlas Lions’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He insists the squad is fully focused and determined ahead of the tournament’s opening matches in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Bounou Highlights Positive Atmosphere in Camp
Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou said the Moroccan squad arrived in the United States in excellent condition and is currently adapting to the time difference as preparations continue.
The experienced shot stopper also took time to acknowledge the supporters who attended the team’s first training session, praising their unwavering commitment to the national side.
“All players are happy and active… We know our fans are everywhere, and some even follow us wherever we go to cheer on us on,” Bounou said.
Bounou emphasised that the players are motivated to deliver strong performances throughout the tournament and represent Morocco with pride on football’s biggest stage.
Diop Praises Fans and Coaching Staff
Defender Issa Diop shared similar sentiments, describing the first open training session as an important opportunity to connect with supporters while also helping the squad acclimatise to local conditions.
The defender expressed gratitude for the presence of Moroccan fans, noting that their support continues to inspire the team wherever it travels.
“We know that Moroccans are present all around the world, and we knew they would show up and support us…. We have a very good coaching staff that is doing everything necessary to ensure we are fully prepared on the pitch. We hope everything goes well and that we win this World Cup,” Diop explained.
Diop also commended the technical team for its efforts in ensuring the players are physically and tactically ready for the challenges ahead.

Head coach Mohamed Ouahbi echoed the confidence expressed by his players and reiterated his belief in the squad’s ability to achieve success during the competition.
