Morocco and Mali drew 1-1 in a friendly at the Grand Stade de Tanger, repeating the result from their previous meeting in the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations in December 2025.
The match went ahead after Morocco’s friendly against Ghana and Tunisia’s fixture with Mali were cancelled.
Morocco took the lead in the 35th minute when Abde Ezzalzouli converted a penalty. The hosts held their advantage until the final stages, but Mali responded after introducing Aliou Dieng as a substitute in the 73rd minute for Mamadou Sangare.
Just four minutes later, Gaousou Diarra scored to bring Mali level and ensure the two sides drew for a second consecutive time.
The result concluded another international window in which both teams had already recorded victories in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.
Morocco defeated Gabon 2-0 before beating Lesotho by the same scoreline. Mali began with a 3-1 win over Cape Verde and followed that with a 1-0 victory against Liberia.
