Moroccan international Akhomach: Atmosphere in the national team is exceptional
Ilias Akhomach, the Moroccan international and player for Villarreal CF in Spanish football, expressed his great joy upon receiving a call-up from national team coach Walid Regragui.
Speaking to beIN Sports channel, the winger of “The Yellow Submarines” stated, “I was overwhelmed with happiness after being called up to wear the Moroccan national team jersey.”
Akhomach emphasized that the atmosphere within the “Atlas Lions” den is exceptional and wonderful, noting that conditions were comfortable during the recent national team camp.
He continued, “The recent national team camp was an opportunity for me to discover and get to know the other players.”
The player affirmed that the week he spent with the Moroccan national team was exceptionally familial, adding, “Players gathered for group prayers during Ramadan, in a fantastic atmosphere.”
It’s worth noting that Akhomach made substitute appearances in the matches against Angola and Mauritania for the Moroccan national team.
