Luis Figo cools talk of Michael Olise move to Real Madrid

Luis Figo has poured cold water on growing speculation that Michael Olise could swap Bayern Munich for Real Madrid any time soon.

The former Madrid star believes a transfer would be highly complicated given Olise’s current status at the Bundesliga giants.

Olise has been heavily linked with Madrid after shining in Bayern’s Champions League triumph over the Spanish side, where his creativity and end product played a key role in knocking them out. Even so, Figo thinks a move is far from straightforward.

“It will be difficult for him to join Real Madrid; he’s already at a very big club in Europe, and it will be complicated for him to leave,” he said.

Figo also underlined how smart Bayern’s recruitment has been. “It’s clear that he was one of Bayern’s best signings in relation to what he cost,” he added, pointing to both value and impact. The Portuguese legend went even further with his praise, calling Olise “an incredible player” who decided the tie and is enjoying an outstanding season, predicting he could soon be among the favourites for the Ballon d’Or.
