Ibrahim Maza attracts €65m Manchester City interest after rapid rise
Ibrahim Maza has attracted strong interest from Manchester City, with reports suggesting the Premier League side are preparing a significant offer for the young midfielder currently at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Maza, who joined Leverkusen from Hertha BSC for around €12 million, has seen his value rise sharply following a promising start to life in Germany.
His performances have reportedly placed him on the radar of several top European clubs.
According to reports, Manchester City are considering an offer that could reach close to €65 million, potentially including a 5% sell-on clause as part of the package. An earlier bid, believed to be in the region of €50 million, was rejected by Leverkusen.
The Bundesliga club are said to be reluctant to enter negotiations at this stage, with Maza under contract until June 2030. Internally, Leverkusen view the Algerian midfielder as an important part of their long-term sporting project and are not under pressure to sell.
Despite this stance, City are understood to be keen to move quickly in an attempt to avoid competition from other leading European sides monitoring the player’s progress.
His technical ability and potential for further development have made him one of the emerging names in the transfer market.
Maza’s rapid rise since arriving at Leverkusen has been notable, with the midfielder quickly establishing himself as one of the club’s most promising young talents.
His performances have strengthened the club’s position in domestic and European competition while also increasing external interest.
For now, Leverkusen remain firm in their position, but continued interest from Manchester City could test their resolve as the transfer window approaches.
