The first phase will be played as a single round-robin competition involving 20 teams, meaning each club will complete 19 matches.

At the end of that stage, the six highest-ranked teams will enter a championship group to compete for the title. The remaining 14 teams, occupying positions seven to 20, will form the relegation group and compete to avoid dropping into the Professional League.

Each club will carry its points total from the first phase into the final phase. The standings in the second stage will then be determined separately within each group, with both groups also playing a single round-robin format.

If two or more clubs finish level on points, their positions will be decided in accordance with Article 15 of the competition regulations.

The bottom four teams in the second-phase relegation group will be relegated to the Professional League, the division immediately below the Egyptian Premier League.
