Monsef Bekrar scored his first goal for الاهلي as they beat الزمالك 2-0 in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The Algerian forward came on in the 66th minute, replacing Sofiane Bendjeddid, and sealed الاهلي’s win with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Bekrar found the net after receiving a pass from Ahmed Sayed “Zizo”, ending a wait of 314 minutes since joining الاهلي and making his first appearance on the scoresheet for the club.
The result gave الاهلي 16 points and moved them temporarily to the top of the table. الزمالك suffered their first defeat of the season and remained third on 13 points.
Zizo also recorded his fourth goal involvement of the campaign, having scored three goals and provided one assist.
The match continued Zizo’s unbeaten record against الزمالك since moving to الاهلي. He has faced them three times for his current club, winning all three matches and supplying two assists in those games.
